Spooky Halloween Radio Presents-War of the Worlds

This Halloween scare the daylights out of your friends. Listen to Spooky Halloween Radio. I really enjoy collecting and listening to Old Time Radio shows featuring a variety of scary stories. There are many good shows this Halloween. Such as, The Creaking Door, The Black Museum, Creeps-By-Night. When you listen to old time radio, your imagination gets to working. The actors from that day and age can make a story magically come alive.

Today's presentation on Spooky Halloween Radio is
War of the Worlds

On Sunday, October 30, 1938, millions of radio listeners were shocked when radio news alerts announced the arrival of Martians. They panicked when they learned of the Martians' ferocious and seemingly unstoppable attack on Earth. Many ran out of their homes screaming while others packed up their cars and fled.

Though what the radio listeners heard was a portion of Orson Welles' adaptation of the well-known book, War of the Worlds by H. G. Wells, many of the listeners believed what they heard on the radio was real. What should have been a simple if innovative retelling of a tale of alien invasion had triggered one of the first great mass panics of the modern media age.
