Number of Cards
1971 Topps grew to a new high of 752 cards which there are 34 Cubs players.Card Dimensions
The standard-sized cards are the following dimensions: 2-1/2" by 3-1/2"Basic Features
The fronts of these cards contain a large color photograph of the player with a thin white border. The background of the cards is black, which makes NM cards hard to find. The players' team is located in large type at the top of the card, and just below that is the player's name and position. A facsimile autograph is located near the middle of the card. The backs of these cards feature a major difference from previous years: Topps included a small black and white photograph to go along with limited stats featuring the players' first pro and major league games, plus a short biography.

- Statistical Leaders (LL)
- World Series (WS)
