598 cards in the 1965 Topps collection included 32 Cubs players with 2 SP

Size of Cards

The size of the cards are standard-size 2 ½ x 3 ½

Basic Features

On the front of the card is a player’s photograph with a frame around it. At the lower left corner of each card is a pennant shaped logo with the player’s team name and team symbols. This pennant is set against a colored lower name panel with the player’s name printed in white and their field position printed in black

On the back of the card in the upper left corner is a baseball logo with the word Topps printed in it as well the card number. Below that is a short write-up about the player and a cartoon panel with a charactiture of the player. Then below that is the player’s bio and stats info. On rookie cards, the back is divided into 2 split sections.

The 1965 Topps set is divided into “Low Numbers” (#s 1-506) and “High Numbers” (#s 507-598) with the latter only slightly more difficult to locate and home to 78 “Short Prints.” There are no significant errors or variations.

To prevent purchasing a false piece of history, always get a professionally graded card from a recognized provider. In the future, graded cards will be significantly more valuable.

1965 Topps Baseball also has two insert sets. The Topps Iron-On Transfers measure 2" x 3" with a checklist of 72 players. The Topps Embossed inserts feature a total of 72 cards and each measure 2-1/8" x 3-1/2".
