1927 W560 Playing Cards Chicago Cubs or is it?

Despite being assigned a "W" number in the American Card Catalog, this "strip" card series was actually released as four distinct uncut sheets measuring 7" x 11" with 16 subjects each. The collection features both non-sport celebrities and athletes. The backs are made of a tannish-gray card stock. W560 cards can be discovered with red ink (Hearts and Diamonds), black ink (Clubs and Spades), or a rarer version that showcases both red and black ink on each card. Additionally, the front card stock may vary in color from yellowish to pinkish.

This set may be incorrectly dated since Rogers Hornsby didn't join the Cubs until 1929.

The card backs feature a logo and advertisement in green ink from "Smith's Mello-Mint - The Texas Gum Company." Also inscribed on the back is the message "This picture is one of the series of 50 base ball players, one of which is wrapped with each 5 cent package of Smith's Mello-Mint Gum."

Because Mello-Mints are printed on such thin stock, they are usually found crinkled or creased.
