These cards were distributed as part of a baseball game produced in 1906. The game cost 50 cents and these cards were designed like a deck of playing cards and measure 2-1/2 x 3-1/2 (inches). The set features some of the finest portraits found on any card production, the work of noted photographer Charles Conlon. The card fronts show a black and white cameo photo of the player, his name, his team, and the game outcome associated with that particular card. Separate packs of cards were manufactured for the National League, which featured a red back and the American League, which featured a blue Back.
