Basic Features

This set includes 24 team trays, each with nine punch-out discs, making it the largest disc collection ever created at that time. Collaboratively developed with Michael Schecter and Associates, these discs share a similar fundamental design with other MSA discs, but the back features a cartoon character of a burger chef. The front showcases biographical details about the player, while the bottom lists their name, team, and position, with a portrait of the player prominently displayed in the center. The entire set consists of 216 distinct discs. Although these discs were launched in 1977, they hold a copyright from 1976. The tray opens up to reveal a baseball diamond that determines play outcomes such as "Home Run" or "Out." It includes Burger Chef characters like Where Wolf. The packaging also provided assembly instructions and game rules. To find out where the ball lands, you blow into a straw. As the ball is blown away from home plate, there are specific areas designated for single, double, triple, out, and home run. If the ball touches any of the black areas that divide the squares, it counts as a strike. If it goes beyond the last space, it is deemed an out.

Basic Features

These cards were launched by Royal Desserts and can be located on the backs of boxes over a period of three years. Although the backs are plain, the front of the cards showcases portrait images of the player, accompanied by a facsimile autograph and an impressive write-up of the player's life; there's a wealth of information in this collection.

This set features a black-tinted version and a more elusive blue-tinted version, which is valued at 2X the standard prices. For just 15 cents and three box fronts from any dessert, one could purchase an eight-page, comb-spined booklet from Royal to keep the cards organized. The set is considered complete with merely one of each variation.

Card Dimensions

The cards measure 1 13/16" by 2 3/4" and the panels measure 2 3/4" by 5 1/2".

Basic Features

In 1962, Bazooka released in three-card panels that were included with boxes of Bazooka gum. The cards featured full-color images, had blank backs, were unnumbered, and were individually hand-cut from the panel, using dotted lines as a cutting guide. Each card displayed a vivid color photograph of the player, bordered in white, which contained the player's name, team name, and position. The cards with SP in the checklist below are more difficult to obtain. Complete panels or complete boxes would command a premium above these prices.

The baseball players included in this Buchner set are part of a broader collection that also features cards of policemen, jockeys, and actors, all launched in partnership with the tobacco brand "Gold Coin." The front of these cards showcases a vibrant illustration of a baseball player. At the bottom of each card, you can find the player's name, position, and team name. On the back of the N284 set, there is an advertisement for Gold Coin chewing tobacco. This Buchner Gold Coin set is unnumbered and presents three different variations on the reverse side of the cards. The most prominent subset includes cards of baseball players, amounting to 142 cards. Following that, the next largest subset features 103 police inspectors. Furthermore, the collection comprises 31 jockeys and 48 actors.

In 1973, Jewel grocery stores handed out portrait photos of Chicago Cubs players, each measuring 6" by 9". These vibrant images are unnumbered and feature plain backs. The front displays white borders that encase a full-color images of the player along with a facsimile autograph. This was a strong team during the late 60s and early 70s, making it a fantastic collection that Cubs fans would cherish. That being said, storing these can be quite challenging.
