1968 Laughlin World Series (R-Unc)

Number of Cards

The 1968 Laughlin collection consists of 64 cards, featuring 10 team cards from the Cubs.

Size of Cards

The card slightly oversized, (2 3/4" by 3 1/2")

Basic Features

A maximum of 300 test issue sets were created by sports artist R.G. Laughlin for the World Series concept, which was later mass marketed by Fleer a few years afterward. The front of the cards features a black and white design, while the back is in red and white. Despite bearing a copyright date of 1967, it is widely believed that these cards were not released until 1968.

1976 Blank back Discs (H-unc) Cubs

Basic Features

Produced by Michael Schechter Associates, these un-numbered discs measure 3-3/8 inches in diameter. Unlike other variations that feature advertisements from a variety of sponsors, this particular version does not include any advertisement. These discs were distributed through multiple advertisers, making the ad-free variation unique among the collection.

1964-66 Guy's Potato Chip Pins

Number of Cards

From 1964 to 1966, Guy's Potato Chip produced a total of 20 team pins, with one pin created for each Major League Baseball team each year over the course of three consecutive years.

Size of Cards

The pins measured 7/8" in diameter

In the years 1964, 1965, and 1966, pins were placed into cans of potato chips. The years corresponding to the pins can be identified by their reverse side. The backs feature the Guy's Potato Chips logo, there are unmarked pins in 64. The pins from 1964 display the logo but lack a date, while the years 1965 and 1966 include the dates on their backs.

1964 Guy's Potato Chip Pins (PF32):

In 1964, the front design of the (regular) Chicago Cubs pins showcases a star on each side of the team name. Nevertheless, one variant displays three stars on both sides. There is no date on the back, and a blank back variation is often mistakenly associated with the year 1962, which is incorrect!


1965 Guy's Potato Chip Pins (PF33):

In 1965, the fronts of the standard Chicago Cubs pins display a star on both sides of the team name. Nevertheless, one variant showcases three stars on each side. Additionally, the color was altered to a yellow pin with red lettering.

In 1966, the fronts of the standard Chicago Cubs pins display a star on both sides of the team name. Additionally, the color was altered to a yellow pin with green lettering.

1964 Wheaties All-Star Stamps (ST-Unc)

The 1964 Wheaties Stamps collection consists of 50 stamps and 1 alblum, featuring 2 players from the Cubs.

Basic Features

1925 Exhibits (W461)

There were seven separate issues issued from 1921 through 1928 with subtle differences that allow for a collector to decipher the difference, although ESCO (Exhibit Supply Company of Chicago) did not print any year on the cards.

The size of the cards are 3 3/8" x 5 3/8"

Basic Features

Each card displays a black-and-white posed image of the player, accompanied by a box at the bottom that contains his name in uppercase letters, position, and team, along with the note (Made in the U.S.A.). The unnumbered cards feature blank backs. These cards were the size of postcards and could be acquired from a machine specifically created for penny arcade venues.

1978 Royal Crown Iron-Ons

1978 Royal Crown features a total of 130 cards, including 5 players from the Cubs.

Basic Features

The Royal Crown Iron-Ons consisted of a collection of felt transfers intended for application on t-shirts, showcasing five players from each of the 26 Major League Baseball teams. However, these transfers were not officially licensed by Major League Baseball, which led to the omission of team logos. Instructions for applying the iron-on are provided beneath each player's name. Each iron-on displayed a black-and-white headshot of a player set against a white baseball backdrop, complemented by red and blue accents.
