You will find a vast resource of vintage Cubs baseball cards, feel free to view pictures of my collection, read commentary on the players, teams, sets and sub-sets.
The full cards measure 2 1/2" by 3 1/8". Fronts feature sepia-toned black and white photos of two different players from the same team, against a white background that also serves as the border. Below each picture is a short biography and statistical information, as well as the card number (each player has his own individual number). The cards are blank-backed.
They were produced by a Massachusetts-based company called Gum Products, Inc
There are 150 player pictures spread out over 75 cards. Cards numbered 1-79 and 101-150 are arranged horizontally and feature portrait shots, while 80-100 are arranged vertically with full-body action shots.
Cards that have been cut in half to form "singles" have a greatly reduced value. The player on the left has an odd number and the other player has an even number.

With many great autographs to collect plus plenty of insert and parallel cards this set and should be a big hit and this blogger is looking forward to May of 2012. I just hope that Banks Autographed Originals finds its way into the collection.
The 200-card base set will be divided into five 40-card subsets. Four of those will feature a variety of players, although mostly current stars, on cards meant to evoke one of four classic Topps designs: 1954, 1971, 1980 and 1984. The remaining 40 cards make up the short-printed All-Time Fan Favorites subset. Like the All-Time Fan Favorites sets of the middle part of the last decade

I think the Cubs will be a .500 team this year and will improve with time. Hopefully Dale Sveum will get these guys to play some small ball with better defense and of course hustle, something are team has lacked for many years . Very excited about are new front office and over the next few years get some young hungry players and maybe a championship.

Card Dimensions
The standard-sized cards are the following dimensions: 2-1/2" by 3-1/2"
Basic Features
The Pinnacle brand, introduced by the Score Company, represented their foray into the premium card market. Although it had a brief existence from 1992 to 1998, it produced only seven sets. These cards are characterized by their black borders framed in white, showcasing vibrant full-color images of the players. The names and teams of the players are displayed at the bottom, while their positions and the Pinnacle logo are positioned at the top. The reverse side of the cards features a horizontal layout with a close-up image, along with statistics, a team logo, and biographical details. Each card back features an anti-counterfeit device located at the bottom edge. A unique ribbed plastic lenticular detector card was introduced, enabling users to see the anti-counterfeit feature and decode the message, which reveals the word 'Pinnacle'.
This 30-card boxed set features top rookies of the 1992 season, with at least one player from each team. A total of 180,000 sets were produced.
Slugfest
This 15-card set highlights the games top sluggers.
Rookie Idols
This 18-card insert set is a spin-off on the Idols subset featured in the regular series. The cards were randomly inserted in Series II. The set features full-bleed color photos of 18 rookies along with their pick of sports figures or other individuals who had the greatest impact on their careers. The fronts carry a close-up photo of the rookie superimposed on an action game shot of his idol.
Team Pinnacle
This 12-card, double-sided insert set features the National League and American League All-Star team as selected by Pinnacle. The standard-size cards were randomly inserted in Series I packs. The cards feature illustrations by sports artist Chris Greco with the National League All-Star on one side and the corresponding American League All-Star by position on the other. The words "Team Pinnacle" are printed vertically down the left side of the card in red for American League on one side and blue for National League on the other.
Team 2000
This 80-card standard-size set focuses on young players who were projected to be stars in the year 2000. Cards 1-40 were inserted in Series 1 jumbo packs while cards 41-80 were featured in Series 2 jumbo packs. The insertion rate was three per jumbo pack in either series.
