Basic Features

This collection of metal coins was handed out at Citgo stations to celebrate the 100th anniversary of professional baseball. Each coin features a ballplayer in a raised portrait, with the name displayed at the top. Additionally, there was a display card that could be requested from the company through the mail, allowing for all the coins to be showcased. I'm not an avid coin collector, but I thought this was a great way to maintain the collection.

1978 Big T and Tastee Freeze Discs (H-unc)

There were many MSA discs produced in the late 70s. Cubs disks are affordable, simple, and enjoyable to collect. Happy hunting!

The discs measured 3- 3/8 inches in diameter

Basic Features

Discs were distributed at selected Big T and Tastee-Freez restaurants which offer traditional American fast food; I believe Big T went bankrupt. These discs were manufactured by MSA. The front design showcases a black and white headshot within a white baseball diamond pattern. Four red stars embellish the top of the discs, while the white diamond is framed by various colors on different discs. The reverse side is printed in red and blue on a white background, displaying the disc number, the player's name, their batting average or win/loss record, and advertisements from sponsors. All MSA discs featured the same player headshots on the front and multiple different advertisers on the back.

1970 O-Pee-Chee (V-unc)

The American Card Catalog first came out in 1937 and saw considerable growth over the years, leading to its last edition in 1960. This explains why many cards from 1960 onward are unc, since the book was not revised after that. The V category was the destination for Canada Candy.

Basic Features

In 1970, OPC cards were produced in a bilingual format, featuring card backs in both English and French, along with the phrase "Printed in Canada." Aside from this, they were essentially identical to the standard 1970 Topps cards. The front side showcases color photographs of players set against a gray border, complemented by thin white borders. Beneath each photo, the player's name and position are displayed, while the team name is positioned at the top of the image. The horizontal backs provide player biographies and statistics in both French and English. Notably, the card stock for the O-Pee-Chee cards is a darker shade of yellow on the reverse side, making them significantly harder to find compared to regular Topps cards.
