Basic Features
The 1921 Holsum Bread (D327) was a product of the H. Weil Baking Company from New Orleans. Each black-and-white card features a player’s image prominently displayed within a black-bordered rectangle, with the player’s name, position, and team printed at the bottom. On the reverse side, it advertises, "Play the Holsum Game!" for the H. Weil Baking Company, along with the note that "This game consists of 80 different Base Ball Stars; one star in each loaf of HOLSUM BREAD."
D327 backs are available in two distinct variations as detailed below. The first type, featuring the elongated "H. Weil Baking Company" label, is regarded as the earlier version from 1920. The second type, from 1921, showcases a more compact "H. Weil Baking Company" label and is slightly more frequently seen. However, both variations remain somewhat elusive for collectors today.
