Who would ever collect these weird, mostly unknown cubs memorabilia? Well, I do, and if you do, then you're a hard-core Cubs collector.

This marked the inaugural year for this peculiar and unusual Topps set. These lids lack borders and are unnumbered, featuring a baseball image, player name, position, and team on the underside of the tops of 1-ounce tubs of bubble gum. The player’s team logos were incorporated into the 1970 set to distinguish the various years of the three sets.

Size of Lids

Basic Features
This second collection features photographs of baseball players located on the underside of the lids of 1-ounce bubble gum tubs. It was regarded as a test set and is quite difficult to find. For some strange reason, Topps airbrushed all logos from the portrait images, and the lids lack borders and are unnumbered. The names, positions, and teams are printed on the bottom.
